In a nutshell

Octo Chef is a game where 1 to 4 players enter a kitchen in the body of an octopus. Each tentacle can be controlled by one player or players can switch to different tentacles if they are not playing with four, the main body of octopus is on a chair with wheels so the players can pull in any direction to steer the entire body to a part of the kitchen. The goal is to work together to cook dishes in the kitchen and match the customers orders before the time runs out, but this is difficult when the tentacle reach is limited so players have tp find a way to get the octopus in the most ideal positions so every player can reach the part of the kitchen they need to be.

Octo Chef development

The team developing Octo Chef initially consisted of a team from a gamejam. We started with four but unfortunately eventually disbanded the project with two left. The idea was great and the development went smooth in the beginning. But personal life just gets into the way of developinggames which is a common ocurrence and we decided not to continue anymore.

My Responsibilities and Current Status

I did 3D art, designing and a little bit of gameplay programming on this project. I mainly focused on creating the environment the players to play in, taking care of the Fabrik algorithm that creates the visual functionality for the tentacles and creating the models seen in the game. Currently the game is not being worked on and has not been for a while. Maybe it will be picked up in the future who knows.
Below you can see an early gameplay video of this project.
